Our Club Officials for 2025
We’re delighted to introduce you to our 2025 Club Officials, who will each bring their own passion towards continuing the growth of Hallowes Golf Club.
Men’s Captain – Dave Roberts
I joined Hallowes Golf Club in 2015, after 10 years at Sitwell Park, Rotherham.
I attended Jordanthorpe school, until I was 16, left on a Friday and began work as a butcher on the following Monday. I started work for the Royal Mail in May 1981 and stayed until voluntary redundancy in March 2020.
As the Captain, I intend to use my time and energy, to keep the club moving forward. I am also looking forward to working with the 1st team and integrating with the clubs members.

Ladies Captain – Esther Chater
Born in Dronfield, I moved away when I got married. We were fortunate to live in many places including Dubai, New York and San Francisco, then returned to Dronfield when my husband finished work in 2017, the same year I joinedHallowes.
My role as Lady Captain includes being a Board member with responsibilities for Ladies Membership, Communication and Social events; A Team fixtures; Golf Charity fundraising (my charity is Parkinson’s UK); Ladies Golf Exchange Day; Lady Captain’s Day and a Ladies two-night Golf Break.
I have introduced a Lady Captain’s ‘Thank You’ Golf Exchange Day too, which will be offered to ladies who are able to support me and develop the Ladies section throughout this year. My aim is also to continue an integrated approach across all sections at the Club.

I am delighted to become President of Hallowes Golf Club for 2025. When I joined the club some 25 years ago, I never thought I would be in such a fortunate position and at a time when the course, club, staff and its members are all thriving. It really is a wonderful place to be a member and for my part, I hope to meet and play a round with as many of you as possible this year. Hoping you have a safe, happy and successful golfing season.
